Borgharen

We have been asked for additional equipment, expertise & hands to support this salvage operation of freighter The ‘Humadivi’, which Saturday, Oct. 12, ’24, got into trouble due to strong currents on the Meuse River and had sailed against weir Borgharen.

At 3 p.m. of the same day of the application, we already had the first trucks heading toward Borgharen weir. Our men were also there the same evening to get everything operational. No time to lose.

During these intense days and nights, we were able to do our part by pumping the sand out of the ship with our Damen 200 DOP set. The purpose of this was to make the ship lighter so that relocation would become possible.

After several intensive days and nights, the ship has been taken out of the water, shipping has resumed and our men are back. We are grateful that we were able to make a valuable contribution to this salvage action in Borgharen. Thanks Paans Van Oord bv for the great cooperation.
