Since our foundation, we believe it is important to contribute to a healthy living environment for people, animals and nature. We do this by carefully carrying out nature restoration projects and dredging work and continuously looking for smart, efficient solutions. Our goal is always to leave the environment in a better condition than how we found it. Rather than doing it all by ourselves, we work with stakeholders such as governments and nature organisations.
“Shouldn’t nature be able to recover on its own?” This is a question we hear a lot. Nature is resilient, but sometimes it needs targeted support to maintain biodiversity and strengthen ecosystems.
Thanks to our many years of experience, we know exactly where and how to proceed to optimise habitats. In every project, respect for the local flora and fauna is prioritised. This is why we work closely with ecologists and align our working methods with the natural environment.
For our nature restoration projects, we use machinery that has a minimal impact on the natural environment. Take, for example, our Waterking amphibious excavators, which are suitable for areas that are difficult to access with standard equipment, such as marshes, stream valleys, peatlands, and tidal areas (such as deltas and salt marshes).
Here, we carry out many different types of activities to promote the ecological restoration of these areas, such as:
Water brings life, but it also requires management and protection. With our knowledge and experience, we contribute to the maintenance and improvement of waterways, so that everyone can enjoy safe and well-functioning wetlands. We take great care in our work on waterways, canals, ponds, lakes, and construction pits.
This includes many of the activities we carry out to preserve or improve water areas, such as:
Each project involves unique challenges. We look beyond standard solutions and develop innovative methods to solve complex nature restoration and inland dredging problems.
Over the years, we have developed unique machine sets, including the Shredder Dredger and the Floating Screening Dredger. These machines allow us to work efficiently in challenging conditions. Areas with a lot of vegetation or polluted aquatic soils, for example.
Our reference projects demonstrate how we apply these innovative technologies in practice. For example, check out our project with the Floating Screening Dredger, where we dredged a silt pond in Germany to make way for a floating solar farm.
At Knoop BV, we develop our working methods in-house, from planning to execution and completion. Safety and diligence are our top priorities. We follow strict protocols and specifications to protect both our team and the environment. Our hands-on approach and short lines of communication allow us to move quickly and work efficiently.
Our efforts do not stop at execution. We also offer additional services to help projects run smoothly, such as;
Water, nature and innovation come together in our solutions. Let us tie the knot for a greener future.
Together, we are committed to our mission: providing ingenious solutions for in and around the water.
