Project Description

The demand for clean energy continues to increase. And so, in the south of Dessel in Belgium, the first Flanders floating solar park was built on the old sand extraction site of the sand extraction company Sibelco.

Knoop BV was responsible for the complete care of delivery and installation of the anchor system for this solar park. Special flipping anchors were chosen. During the production of the folding anchors, the breaking force for the clip and ring was tested to ensure good attachment and strength. By carrying out these tests, we can say that the anchors are firmly in place and can withstand the construction of the solar park in severe weather conditions.

Work started in March 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic started during this period. Despite the pandemic that gripped the entire world, there was no delay during the installation of the anchors and further work.

The floating solar park went into operation in October 2020, as planned. With the installation of the first floating solar park in Flanders, Belgium, it is recognized how locations, such as sand extraction location, can also be used for green energy.

The added value and importance of puddles like this cannot be overestimated for generating renewable and renewable energy

For Knoop BV it was a satisfaction to be part of the realization of the first floating solar park in Belgium.
