On the Monnickendam in Amsterdam a dike reinforcement project was started. Here we were also present to provide support with our amphibious excavator, WK220 NG-5.

The dredging work consisted of pumping the silt and moving the sand to the location where the silt previously lay. This creates a more stable surface for a sturdier dike.

This project lasted a week and a day. The machine has run a total of 50 hours. In total, 4000 m ³ sludge has been pumped and a distance of 150m has been covered by the sludge by means of the press lines that we took with us.

During the work there was a strong wind that created small challenges. Fortunately, these were easy to oversee and we were stable on the water thanks to the spud poles attached to the side pontoons of the WK220 NG-5. The strong wind force cannot stop us from successfully completing a project. Now the dike is again the strength for a longer period to guarantee safety.
