Nature reserve: Nieuwkoopse Plassen

We have carried out various assignments in Nieuwkoop over the years. We will continue to be active in this area with nature restoration work for Natuurmonumenten. The contribution we make ensures that many generations will continue to enjoy this beautiful nature reserve.

Pet holes were dug for the Water Board, forest was removed and some dams (double row of posts with cribs) were constructed.

This project was brought to fruition in part by the use of the innovative Shredder Dredger. A powerful machine that ensures everything can be shredded and processed in one pass. Wood, silt, stumps and more.

For the LIFE project ‘New life in the peat’, we carried out work such as sodding and digging cap holes. This in cooperation with Vereniging Natuurmonumenten and Staatsbosbeheer.

The aim of the project is to improve the quality of low moorland areas throughout the Netherlands. This is done, among other things, by digging open old silted up peat holes and deep ploughing of reedland plots, with the ultimate goal of restoring nature in succession. Species that are inextricably linked to similar areas are thus preserved and protected.

The Space for the Round Sundew project is a partnership with Vereniging Natuurmonumenten. The aim of the project is to improve the quality of this low moorland area. We do this by, among other things, removing woodland and ploughing reed beds, in order to preserve and protect species such as the Round-leaved Sundew. In this way, biodiversity is preserved. The native plants and animals that call this area home can continue to do so for years to come.
