Project description
As so beautifully described by Vereniging Natuurmonumenten; Botshol “the gem of the low moor”.
Botshol is known for its narrow ditches, expansive ponds and a wealth of flora and fauna. We have carried out several operations in Botshol as part of nature restoration measures. This is to combat forestation and land degradation in the peat. Ditches have been dug, woodland removed and reed beds ploughed.
This was possible partly because of the deployment of the Shredder Dredger. A powerful machine like no other. The Shredder Dredger is a machine that can crush wood, peat, silt or stumps and more difficult-to-process materials. The Shredder Dredger made sure that work can be done easier this way. The mixture is pumped with dredging hoses and/or HDPE pressure pipes to a depot.
The Shredder Dredger looks robust, but its narrow dimensions allow it to manoeuvre through narrow waterways with minimal damage to nature.
Thanks to the restoration measures in the area, Botshol is poised to continue attracting the amazing diversity of flora and fauna in the years to come.
