Project Description
In the summer of 2023 we started anchoring a floating solar panel park in Zaltbommel. However, this project presented unique challenges. Among other things, the high-voltage cables that run over the retention pond. Our current anchoring platform could not be used as a result and we looked at possibilities that it did fit. It resulted in a smaller platform with crane, pontoons, WK55 NG-A and a work boat. With the help of this crane we were able to lift the anchors under the high-voltage cables.
About 90 concrete blocks were chosen for the anchors. These concrete blocks are accurately placed using GPS. Beforehand, these locations were marked using bamboo sticks placed by our skilled people using the necessary calculations. The anchors we placed formed a robust foundation that ensures that the floating solar park in this pond remains at its location. Regardless of weather conditions.
The adapted working method made this project more complex than we are used to, but we do not just walk away for a challenge.
Despite these circumstances, we managed to place the park carefully and accurately. Since October 2023, the solar park has been operational, supplying renewable energy to the nearby business park. In addition, the park has the capacity to supply power to between 700 and 900 households.
