Anchoring of the Langhagen floating solar farm

For the floating solar farm in Langhagen, we carried out the complete anchoring of a 3.6 MW installation. The solar farm consists of 420 solar boats and was built to supply the sand extraction pit with sustainably generated energy.

For floating solar parks, a well-designed mooring system is essential to ensure the solar islands remain in position and to safely absorb the forces of wind, waves and fluctuating water levels. For this project, we developed a mooring solution that was fully tailored to the local conditions.

The ground conditions presented a significant technical challenge in this regard. Due to the presence of a thick layer of silt, the design of the anchoring system had to take the properties of the subsoil into account. This influenced the configuration and length of the anchor lines. In addition, at a few locations, the anchors were installed in alternative positions in order to guarantee the required holding force. Thanks to these engineering choices, a stable and reliable anchoring system was realised that meets the project requirements. Each anchor installed is designed to withstand a load of 10 tonnes. The anchoring system therefore offers sufficient capacity for the relatively heavy floating solar park systems currently in use on the market.

Thanks to careful preparation, technical expertise and efficient execution, the work was completed on schedule. This project demonstrates that we do not merely provide standard solutions, but also translate complex seabed conditions into a well-thought-out design and reliable execution. In this way, we ensure that floating solar parks continue to operate safely and stably over the long term.
