Exotics removal in Joure

Exotics, or as how we also call them: unwanted plants that are not native to the area, can be a major problem in the body of water they are in. Exotics hinder passage and / or suffocate other aquatic life that is native. In addition, the water has been hidden from view, which can cause dangerous situations. Like in a residential area. For this reason, we have to regularly remove exotics.

For this specific project of removing exotics, we were present in a residential area in Joure. The WK55 NG-A was easily manoeuvrable in the narrow water between the many gardens, even with side pontoons and a side basin. Thorough control was possible by means of a rake and mowing basket on the boom.

The WK55 NG-A used side pontoons to fully float in the water. At times when more stability was desired, the spud poles were used to guarantee stability. This allowed our operator to remove the exotics from a comfortable position.
